ASHEVILLE, NC — The 2nd Annual Jam In The Trees is a two day, Americana music-themed event that takes place at Pisgah Brewing  in Black Mountain, NC! With bands playing on both the beautiful Outdoor Stage, and the more intimate Indoor Taproom Stage Friday and Saturday, August 25 and 26, 2017. There are unique vendors and local food trucks on-site, and of course award-winning Pisgah Brewing beer.

Joining the bill to round up the final lineup are Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Jeffrey Foucault, Front Country, Eilen Jewell, Cicada Rhythm, and Zoe & Cloyd.  Others that have already been announced include The Infamous Stringsuters, Acoustic Syndicate, Peter Rowan, Larry Keel, Tim O’Brien & Jan Fabricius, Jim Lauderdale, Underhill Rose, and Ken Tizzard.

Jam in the Trees’ Friday schedule starts with Zoe & Cloyd, followed by Underhill Rose, then Larry Keel. Doors at 7, show starts at 8pm, all on the Indoor Stage.

Gates open Saturday at 12pm, with music starting at 1pm throughout the day until 11pm on the beautiful Pisgah Brewing Outdoor Stage, music inside all day, followed by an After Hours Jam at 11pm on the Indoor Stage with special guest artists from the day!

The Infamous Stringdusters close out the night on Saturday on the Outdoor Stage, following a performance by Acoustic Syndicate. Others performing on the Outdoor stage on Saturday include Front Country, Eilen Jewell, Tim O’Brien & Jan Fabricius, and Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen. Jim Lauderdale closes out the Indoor Stage on Saturday, following Ken Tizzard. Cicada Rhythm opens the stage for the day, followed by an afternoon set with Peter Rowan, then Jeffrey Foucault.

Tickets are on sale now. The two day packages are sold out; however there are still single day tickets available. VIP tickets (Saturday only) are also available and include Meet & Greets with the bands, a guided brewery tour and tasting, preferred parking, a commemorative event poster and more! Kids 12 and under are free and welcome on Saturday with a paying adult. Tap Room shows at Pisgah Brewing are 18 and up, which is what Friday night is, so no kids on Friday night.

Jam In The Trees partnering with The Asheville Brews Cruise to run complimentary shuttle buses, making a continuous circuit between a handful of nearby hotels and campgrounds and Pisgah Brewing Company. The ones on the route are Holiday Inn Asheville-Biltmore East, Quality Inn and Suites Biltmore East, Super 8 Black Mountain, Mama Gertie’s Hideaway Campground, and Asheville East KOA. JITT is a benefit for Wild Forests & Fauna (WildFF) and last year’s inaugural event raised $5000 to protect, restore, and support threatened forests and wildlife in Western North Carolina as part of their Big Tree Project.

The Suwannee Music Foundation in partnership with The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park today announce Suwannee Valley Flood Jam: A Benefit For Suwannee, Hamilton & Columbia Counties on August 17 & 18 at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.

On June 24, 2012, Tropical Storm Debby settled over north Florida for 4 days, dumping more than 25 inches of rain in some areas of Suwannee, Hamilton and Columbia Counties. The Suwannee River rose to near record flood levels and dozens of sinkholes developed around those counties, destroying many businesses and homes while making roads impassible. 1500 families were flooded out of their homes – many left without shelter, cars, clothes, food or any worldly possessions. The flood affected over 10,000 other people throughout the tri-counties.

More than 25 bands including Music Park favorites Peter Rowan, Donna the Buffalo, The Lee Boys, Jamie Davis, The Swingin Johnsons, The Heavy Pets, The Legendary JC’s and many more will fill up the special Suwannee Valley Flood Jam line-up.  Full lineup below.

Two-Day Tickets are $45 in advance, $65 at the Gate and include primitive camping. Single-Day tickets cost $20 per day and are available only at the gate. Day tickets do not include primitive camping.

One hundred percent of net profits from the Suwannee Valley Flood Jam will be donated to locally based charities, Love INC based in Live Oak, FL and The United Way based in Lake City, FL.

Since the flood began, the Suwannee Music Foundation and the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park have partnered with Love INC. to deliver supplies and provide relief to affected households.   These charitable efforts by music lovers everywhere have helped hundreds of people who in this desperate time of their lives have virtually nothing.  Volunteers at both agencies, along with many others throughout the three counties have donated thousands of hours to help family, friends and complete strangers, wading in waist deep, contaminated water to bring out previous personal belongings, prized children’s toys and helping families find suitable temporary homes.

Music on the Mountaintop is scheduled for August 27th and 28th, tucked away in the heart of the high country at Boone fairgrounds (formerly the Old High Country Fairgrounds). MOTM is the first ever green festival in Boone, NC and it took the High Country by surprise and is now entering it’s third year. What started as a class project at Appalachian State University grew into one of the largest musical events the town had seen in nearly a decade.

Music on the Mountaintop has expanded this year to include two full days of unmatched music featuring several national acts, creating an eclectic blend of Americana, bluegrass, and acoustic funk and folk. Live Environmental Forum – Recreating an idea from the Bonnaroo Music Festival, MOTM is hosting a live forum made up of some of the the top artists performing. This will allow fans to interact with the musicians on relevant and current environmental issues. Similarly to the MOTM particular sponsor selections, MOTM also books musicians that have similar ecological mindsets.

Food Drive – MOTM has teamed up with several Greek social organizations from Appalachian State University to host a canned food drive benefiting the local Hunger Coalition, as well as encouraging our attendees to give financial donations. The fraternities and sororities at Appalachian State have always had effective and generous community activism and we are happy to bring the two together.

The Green Village
In addition to their coop with, the Green Village at Music on the Mountaintop is a conglomerate of some of the most efficient and amazing non-profit organizations in the field of environmental and social awareness.  These organizations include: NC Green Power, Appalachian Voices , ASU Energy Center , High Country Conservancy , Dogwood Alliance , Habitat for Humanity , Hunger Coalition, amongst others

Non-profit beneficiary: This year MOTM has teamed with one of the most active non-profits out there today, Appalachian Voices (www.appalachianvoices.org) Appalachian Voices brings people together to solve the environmental problems having the greatest impact on the central and southern Appalachian Mountains, specifically air pollution and mountaintop removal.

2009 Details: In 2009, MOTM gave $5,000 to AIRE, recycled nearly 2,000 lbs of aluminum, and had over 4,000 in attendance., doubled from the year before. MOTM was voted number one green fest in country 2009 by Blue Ridge Outdoors.

Amelia’s Mechanics is: Molly McGinn (vocals, acoustic guitar, lap steel), Molly Miller (vocals, electric guitar, ukulele), and Kasey Horton (viola)

Despite what the oil-and-iron name might suggest, the women of Amelia’s Mechanics swap that toughness for a more urban, sophisticated take on Americana music, using luxuriating harmonies and classical swells to temper their lyrical frustrations with love and life. The instrumentation and vocal harmonies of Amelia’s Mechanics result in a genre-busting sound best described as “vintage country with a moonshine concerto.”

The band released their debut album “North, South,” produced by Jim Avett (father, The Avett Brothers,) in February of 2010 to critical acclaim and embarked on an inaugural spring tour to the delight of audiences all across the southeastern United States. Johnson’s Crossroad performs at Jack of the Wood on August 27th

Johnson’s Crossroad is taking their love of the old time mountain music, bluegrass, and the Texas singer/songwriters of the 1970’s and putting their own stamp on the ever-widening and increasingly popular ‘Americana’ genre, nurturing a sound they like to call “Appalachian Soul.”

The band was born in the bars of small town Lewisburg, WV. Johnson’s Crossroad performed the old songs they love and began to craft their own material. As audiences began to grow founding members Paul Johnson and Keith Minguez decided to head south over the Blue Ridge Mountains to the budding music scene of beautiful Asheville, NC where they found like-minded musicians and formed a touring band.

Their debut album “Blood in Black and White” brings together some of Asheville’s finest musicians to perform JXR’s original material. The album is steeped in the traditional country themes of lost love, lost fortune, lost time, and overcoming hardships, but Johnson’s Crossroad have clearly found a unique voice. With “Blood in Black and White” they give country music fans an alternative to the “polished” sound, though staying true to the roots that have made country music great.
