Just received the below update from David Gans on his November tour with Boris Garcia and lots more. We had so much fun with him here  in Asheville and at Shakori Hills this year. I want to express my appreciation to him for all he does 🙂 We are all so happy that he is feeling healthy and also want to wish him the happiest of Birthdays!

I had to miss it this fall, but I have heard amazing things about the sets at Magnolia Fest down in Live Oak Florida;  solo, with the Rubber Souldiers, and sitting in with Donna the Buffalo and friends.

Here’s a video clip to enjoy:

And here are a few songs to check out:

Greetings and happy autumn to all!

Health update: all is well! I saw my cardiologist yesterday. We need to adjust my cholesterol meds a bit, but everything looks pretty good. I am riding my bike daily, working out with my fitness trainer once a week, eating wisely and losing weight, etc.

My October tour of the southeast was just about the best ever! My first appearance at Shakori Hills was very well-received and every seems to think I’m likely to be invited back; MagnoliaFest was great, as always – I played a solo set, a “DG & Friends” set with a terrific band (Jay Sanders, bass; Mark van Allen, pedal steel; Wildman Steve, drums; David McCracken, keyboards); and Rubber Souldiers made a big splash on the Amphitheater Stage (and no thunderstorms!). In between the two festivals, I played in Asheville NC, Kennesaw GA, Decatur GA, Cullman AL, and live on Wildman Steve Radio. All the shows were well-attended and my music was very well-received. I am a happy camper! Thanks to all who made things happen, especially Erin Scholze in Asheville, Row Jimmy and Uncle John in Cullman, Jim and Maggie Roe in Kennesaw, and Molly Brown and Nancy Lewis-Pegel in Decatur.

This week saw the publication of a very warm review of The Ones That Look the Weirdest Taste the Best in the online music publication The Bluegrass Special: www.thebluegrassspecial.com
