Magnolia Fest is thrilled to announce the addition of Doyle Bramhall II to the 2015 lineup. Doyle is an American blues musician known for his work with Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, and his own band Arc Angels. He stands as one of the most distinctive vocalists, guitarists, composers and producers in contemporary music, with Clapton citing him as one of the most gifted players he has ever encountered. There is a slight schedule change for the festival and Doyle will be performing on Friday right before Tedeschi Trucks Band on the Meadow Stage and The Travelin McCourys with Roosevelt Collier will now be on the Amphitheatre Stage at 8:30-9:30pm.

The festival is also happy to unveil the poster art for 2015! It was co-created by famed Florida painter, Bean Spence, along with Mag Fest’s lead designer, Grant Nielsen! Festivalgoers enjoy four days of camping, live music, unique arts and crafts, a wonderful selection of foods and beautiful fall weather. Another reason to attend Magnolia Fest is the stunning setting located just north of Live Oak, FL, in The Spirit of Suwannee, a one-of-a-kind music park and premier 500+ acre campground nestled on the shady banks of the historic, tea-colored Suwannee River with lush overgrowths of Spanish moss. There is also nearly 12 miles of trails suitable for hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, and nature exploring, as well as canoe and bike rentals.

Magnolia Fest is excited to announce the schedule for this Fall’s event from October 15-18, 2015 at the majestic Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.

Thursday night headliners include are The Motet followed by Lake Street Dive, Others set to play Thursday include a festival opening set by The Lee Boys followed by Band of Heathens and The Congress along with another full stage of music throughout the day.

Friday night’s main headliner is Tedeschi Trucks Band and other main acts include The Del McCoury Band, Steep Canyon Rangers, Col. Bruce Hampton, Roosevelt Collier & The Travelin McCourys, a late night set from The Motet, The Lost Bayou and others on all 4 stages.

Saturday sees The Avett Brothers headlining and 4 stages of music including Jeff Austin Band, New Orleans Suspects, Rebirth Brass Band, Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, another set with Col. Bruce, and a late night show by Donna the Buffalo.

Donna also closes out the night Sunday with their traditional Suwannee music revue of musicians guesting with them to close out the festivities. Others playing Sunday are Keller Williams Grateful Gospel, a second set by Jim Lauderdale, Grandpa’s Cough Medicine, and Big Cosmo.

Everyone Orchestra’s conductor and founder Matt Butler has been leading a rotating cast of accomplished musicians through entirely improvised performances, since 2001. Butler’s unique style of conducting is groundbreaking in that he has essentially created an entirely new way to perform and experience music. Butler says, “Playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience.”

Everyone Orchestra’s performances in Seattle, WA at Nectar Lounge on Friday, September 11th and  Portland, OR at Aladdin Theater on Saturday, September 12th feature Andy Thorn (banjo – Leftover Salmon), Lebo (guitars, steels & vocals – ALO) Allie Kral (fiddle and vocals – Yonder Mtn. String Band) Jans Ingber (percussion and vocals – The Motet), Mimi Naja (mandolin and vocals – Fruition), Tyler Thompson (drums – Fruition), Jeff Leonard (bass – Fruition), and Asher Fulero (keyboards, vocals- Halo Refuser).

Butler brings EO’s participants, both on stage and off, on spontaneous compositional journeys with eclectic ensembles at festivals, theaters, and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally. Featuring a large contingent of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers and community organizations who have embraced the experience of EO in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. It’s all in the moment, designed exclusively by everyone participating in each show.

Having marched clearly into uncharted territory, Everyone Orchestra is an avant-garde conceptual and collaborative performance which deeply encourages and requires audience interaction. Both the band and the audience start the show with a clean slate to help co-create a dynamic musical experience, with Butler receiving ideas from the audience to help set the course of action. Tuning in to Butler’s energy and pantomime, The Conductor is utilized as a pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates musical concepts using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions. The edge of your seat enthusiasm for what is next is the fuel behind the continuous musical experiment of  Everyone Orchestra.

“I feel like it’s part of my job, and paramount, to not have too many preconceptions,” he said. “But the only preconceptions I have going in are to create a really dynamic show from beginning to end, have it have a nice arc, and that all the musicians get a chance to shine. I want to keep them challenged and engaged. It’s a playground for musicians that I’m trying to create,” says Matt in an interview with Examiner.

“[In each city] Butler will have another group with which he can create the beautiful chaos this act is known for. Simply put, there is no set list to be confined to, no certain marks to hit over the course of the night. Butler makes his way to the front of the stage, and it’s off to the races, testing the limits of his players while also showing how good music is when everything clicks in the midst of an improvised set.” writes Examiner’s Thomas Gerbasi. “At this point, Butler almost has it down to a science, at least as much as you can on a speeding car that could veer off the road at any moment.”

EO balances the challenges of live group improvisation with triumphant tension and release conduits of music which head deep into the heart filled with the aspiration of creating shared magical moments.

Head for the Hills is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their third studio album, Blue Ruin, on July 9, 2013. They are in the midst of their Spring Tour in which they opened for both Yonder Mountain String Band and Leftover Salmon. They’ll perform two nights at The Bluebird Theater this weekend in Denver then travel up the west coast. This summer brings them to a variety of festivals including RockyGrass, Northwest String Summit, 4 Peaks Music Festival, Salmonstock, and the return of their music festival, Pickin’ on the Poudre at the historic Mishawaka Amphitheatre, where they’ll be performing music from the new release… think Meta-fictional sea shanties, pop-infused newgrass murder ballads and urbane lyricism, twang and punch.

On Blue Ruin, Head for the Hills fuses bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and indie rock into songs inspired by love and misery and comic books. It was recorded and mixed in Fort Collins, Colorado at Swingfingers Studios with ace engineer and banjoist Aaron Youngberg (Hit and Run, Martha Scanlan, Cahalen Morrison and Eli West). Blue Ruin features guest musicians: resophonic guitarist Andy Hall (The Infamous Stringdusters), cellist Kathleen Starr, electric pianist James Thomas, trumpeter Gabe Mervine (The Motet), vocalist Erin Youngberg (Uncle Earl), and Youngberg on banjo and pedal steel. Head For The Hills is Adam Kinghorn on guitar, Michael Chappell on mandolin, Joe Lessard on fiddle, and Matt Loewen bass.

Renowned screen print artist Timothy Doyle (NASA, Lucas Films, Muse, The Black Keys, The Campaign to Re-Elect Barack Obama) created the stunning cover art, which brings to life themes and characters from within the record. Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer David Glasser rounds out the production team.
